Renee Wiggins’Being Fabulously Fit in God’s Kingdom: A 40-Day Journey to Wellness is an incredible book and worth adding to your library.  Renee has crafted a 40-day guide to better physical and spiritual wellness based on Biblical principles. The book includes a 40-Day journal, which comes from the principle of the Israelites who were in the wilderness for 40 days to go through their process.  I have been utilizing the book everyday for 15 days.  The book doubles as a devotional and it has been an incredible tool to keep me focused and center me throughout each dWhat I really love about this resource is that it is not another diet book.  The book is all about challenging the reader to rethink how they care for the temple God has created for us.

Long ago I picked up a short, witty rule of thumb for taking care of myself that has stuck with me: don’t live to eat, eat to live. In many ways Renee Wiggins, RD. LD., has given health-conscious readers a short and enjoyable tool in her recently self-published, 163-page paperback titled, “Being Fabulously Fit in God’s Kingdom: A 40-Day Journey to Wellness.” This easy-to-read volume is written simply enough for most anyone to get into.

Wiggins sets up a series of short devotions that cover 40 days. Each devotion covers anywhere from 1-½ to 7 pages of fairly large print. Each daily devotion is straightforward, positive, practical, and to the point. Normally the reading for the day will begin with a short Scripture passage from various translations. Then it moves to a singular thought or concept for the reader to grasp. Next there comes a basic prayer to be used. And finally a practical section ends the chapter that may include questions to answer with ample room to right those answers, helpful dietary or exercise lists, or some other beneficial suggestive tidbits. The book concludes with 14 appendices, some of which contain blank charts that the reader can copy and use.

“Being Fabulously Fit in God’s Kingdom” is jam-packed with valuable material on how to steadily get fit, and maintain a healthy life: body and soul. I enjoyed the simplicity of the material, and how it was set out in daily bite-size portions. This book could easily be a plus to any exercise, or healthminded, support group in a church or community that needs a place to begin. I recommend “BeingFabulously Fit in God’s Kingdom: A 40-Day Journey to Wellness” by Renee Wiggins, RD. LD.”
